Review: Inky (The Leaves #1) by J.B. Hartnett

Anika “Inky” Redding is passionate about two things; her love of painting and her fiancé Evan. While working as a bartender to pay her bills, she meets Cole, a sexy divorcee. She denies their mutual attraction and tries to put him out of her mind.

When an abusive person from her childhood makes an unexpected visit, Inky’s world is turned upside down. Secrets are revealed and truths are exposed leaving Inky devastated and questioning what she thought was love. As she picks up the pieces and tries to move on, she finds her path crosses with Cole once again and this time, she cannot deny the passion between them.

Once she opens her heart again, will she be able to move forward or will her past find a way to stop her?

WARNING!! This book has a cliffhanger but don’t let that stop you! Inky’s story will continue with Cole in late September.

My Review

I was given a copy of this book by the author to read for an honest review.

I admit, I usually go for the books with the sexy guy on the cover. Even more so if the guy has tattoos. I am a sucker for tattoos. This book is more proof not to judge a book by its lack of hot guy. You only have to open the book and start reading to get to the hot guy. Your imagination is probably better anyway!

Inky and Cole have an instant connection. They both have pain in their past that affects them still that lets them understand each other’s pain.

I don’t want to give too much away but this book was great. Inky’s BFF, Aimes, is an amazing person and very loyal.

Inky is such a great person and is lucky enough to surround herself with people who love her dearly. With the past that she has as well as the unwanted visit from the person mentioned in the blurb she needs all the love and support she can get!

I really hope you read this book and come back and tell me what you thought of it!

The cliffhanger is killer but have no fear, Cole is already out! (My review is coming soon. I was so into the story that I couldn’t take the time to finish this review until I finished Cole.)
