Title: Spark (Spark Series #1)
Author: Jennifer Ryder
Release Date: February 28, 2014
Not many people know that I, Eevie Lawson, have a problem. An addiction to romance novels. I eat them for breakfast. I hide it the best I can, but I need them to breathe. It’s how I cope.
I’ve had a swag of book boyfriends, but now that I’m free from the responsibility of caring for my three younger brothers, it’s time to find one in the flesh.
In real life, no girl meets their hero on page one, or even at the end of chapter one. I should know.
My journey is real. It’s not perfect, and it sure as hell isn’t easy—but the fight for something worthwhile never is.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
First off, this book takes place in Australia. (To me, that is where every insect and animal’s sole purpose is to kill you. lol) On the plus side, I only had to look up one word: doona. I read this thinking ‘don’t be’? That doesn’t make sense in this sentence! I will let you know now, it is a blanket/duvet/quilt.
Secondly, how in the world does she manage to hide her book addiction? I need some tips. I might be too far gone.
Now that that is out of the way let’s get to the good stuff.
Genevieve is twenty years old and just moved out on her own – with a roommate – after having a bit of a rough time and LOTS of responsibility living in her childhood home and helping her mom out with her siblings. She finds herself with a ton of free time and a desire to live her life.
In this book, we get to be with Cassie as she learns some life lessons and figures out who she is. Things definitely aren’t always sunshine and roses in this book. Life isn’t sunshine and roses so this story is right on target with that.
I am looking forward to more from this author for sure.
